Mr. Michael Bierl

Michael Bierl is Executive Director of Strategic Alliances & Global Services at NewYork-Presbyterian (NYP). NYP is one of the most comprehensive, integrated academic health care delivery systems in the United States, dedicated to providing the highest quality, most compassionate care and service to patients in the New York metropolitan area, nationally, and throughout the globe. In collaboration with two renowned medical schools, Weill Cornell Medicine and Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, NYP is consistently recognized as a leader in medical education, groundbreaking research, and innovative, patient-centered clinical care. In his role, Michael leads NYP’s regional growth and integration efforts through its regional hospital network in partnership with NYP’s Medical Group and academic partners (>$3bn revenue). He also oversees NYP’s partnerships with 50+ employers in New York City, international alliances in the Middle East, Latin America and China, and digital health initiatives such as NYP’s online second opinion program. Prior to joining NYP, Michael worked for Boston Consulting Group advising executive leadership of international healthcare corporations on strategic and operational matters. He also worked on a joint venture with Johns Hopkins Medicine to develop digital diabetes interventions. Michael holds an MBA with honors from IE Business School, Spain, an MS in International Health Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science, UK, and a BS in Management from the University of Bayreuth, Germany.
